The Medicinal Botanicals Project is a collaborative arts project which brings artists, botanists and pharmacologists together to celebrate the important connection between people, plants, science and culture.
Together with partners Santos Museum of Economic Botany, Guildhouse, Flinders Medical Centre Arts in Health Program and the Women’s and Children’s Hospital Foundation Arts in Health Program, Urban Mind and Buddle Design, the Centre for Creative Health will take part in presenting a range of events throughout the remainder of 2018 and 2019.
With the exhibition ‘Healing Medicinal Leaves’, the Centre for Creative Health became one of the first partners participating in the project to implement their Medicinal Botanicals program. The exhibition showcasing artwork focused on native flora traditionally used for medicinal and healing purposes features artwork by Bernadine Johnson, Gloria Petyarre, Gypsy Draven, Audrey Brumby and Glenda Hayes.
‘Healing Medicinal Leaves’ will be on display in the Bessie Davidson and Emerging Artist Galleries located in the Outpatients corridor and the RAH’s main concourse on Level 3 until August 29.
